The magazine is published by Xenophilius Lovegood, who is Love Lovegood's father, a character in the serie.

She believes in many of the extravagant stories she publishes, including the existence of creatures such as Curl-horned Snorkacks and conspiracy theories about the Ministry of Magic. Despite its reputation for publishing strange and fantastical stories, the Quibbler plays a meaningful role in the series. In "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", she publishes an interview with Harry Potter in which she discusses the return of Lord Voldemort, challenging the official narrative of the Ministry of Magic, according to which Voldemort has not returned. This interview helps spread the truth about the return of Voldemort, even thought the Quibbler is still not generally taken seriously by the wizarding community.
